PARENTS OF A USF STUDENT? LEAVE YOUR WORRIES BEHIND!

We understand that sending your kids off to college can be a stressful undertaking, but finding off-campus housing doesn’t have to be. Our team here at University LinQ works to make things easier on you. For your reference, here are some of the more commonly asked questions by parents regarding our USF student apartments. What do I need to know about individual leasing?

A lot has changed since mom and dad went to college, and certainly for the better! The individual lease is one of the latest changes! With this type of lease, you are only responsible for your student's rent. You are not liable for the roommates' rent at all! Unlike a traditional lease or a joint lease, if your roommate transfers or graduates, you have nothing to worry about.


Is renter’s insurance required and why?

In our efforts to continue striving to create a safer living environment for your son or daughter, we now require all residents to carry an active renter's insurance policy during their lease term. Requiring renter’s insurance has become a common practice throughout both on and off-campus student apartments to adequately protect student's belongings such as text books, phones, electronics and other valuables. Our research has found that most of these items, if damaged or stolen, fall under your homeowner's deductible so there is no coverage in place. A renter's insurance policy also works to protect you from liability exposure created while your child is away from home such as negligent damage to the apartment unit, negligent damage to another resident's property or even injuries to guests while visiting. Renter's insurance provides peace of mind and protection from the unforeseen events that sometimes occur. For your convenience, we have identified a national insurance provider that has agreed to provide a comprehensive policy to residents at our communities at a preferred group rate! Does University LinQ offer roommate matching?

University LinQ offers FREE roommate matching to our residents. Your student will not have to worry about finding a roommate online or flyering the entire campus, we will do the work for you and all you have to do is simply fill out a questionnaire!


Are the apartments fully-furnished?

Don't worry about hiring movers or renting a truck, we have fully-furnished options at many of our properties! The days of moving a bed up a flight of stairs are long gone... just bring your personal items and you're set!


What furniture is provided?

The fully-furnished options come with a full XL-sized bed, large desk and chair, and dresser. The living area comes with a comfortable couch, coffee table, end table, and dining room table with chairs. The kitchen comes fully-equipped with energy efficient appliances, a refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, barstools, washer & dryer, microwave and full-size oven and stove.


What do I need to bring to my new apartment?

We suggest that you bring:

Bedding for a full XL sized bed and pillow tops or egg crates

Toiletries

Dishes/Cookware

Decorations to make your new apartment feel like home!


How can I keep up with my student’s account?

All of our residents and their guarantors have access to their property's online resident portal, helping you and them keep up-to-date with their life at University LinQ. You or your student can pay rent online via checking or savings account, set up automatic monthly payments, and submit maintenance requests, all with just a few clicks of your mouse!


When is my rent due?

Rent is always due the 1st of the month. You can pay upfront (due August 1st), in semester installments (due August 1st and January 1st), or in twelve installments (due August 1st and on the first of the month for the next 11 consecutive months).


How do I receive mail and packages?

Your mail will be delivered to your apartment’s mailbox located on USFL property.
